Viking Commercial Refrigeration Display
The development team at Frigo Zika, in collaboration with a German technical institute, has created a new generation of vertical refrigerated display cabinets called Viking — with serial production officially launching this month.
Viking is currently the most energy-efficient vertical refrigeration display unit in the Frigo Zika product range. The unit will be available in two height options — 2000 mm and 2200 mm — as well as in both open-front and closed-door configurations (sliding doors or standard insulated thermo-pane glass doors).
Like most Frigo Zika refrigeration systems, Viking is manufactured in both remote refrigeration versions (with the condensing unit installed externally) and plug-in refrigeration versions (with the condensing unit integrated inside the cabinet), providing flexible solutions for different commercial environments.
Equipment Design and Energy Efficiency
One of the key features of the Viking refrigerated display cabinet is the innovative evaporator positioning. The evaporator is located on the rear side of the unit, significantly improving airflow circulation and cooling performance. Thanks to this advanced design, the system achieves superior refrigeration results with lower cooling capacity compared to standard models that use bottom-mounted evaporators.
With a cooling capacity of 450W/m, the Viking model meets the requirements of the B energy class standard, making it an exceptionally energy-efficient commercial refrigeration solution.
The optimized design also increases the available display area, while the use of thermo-insulated glass doors manufactured by Savabien (part of the FZ Group) makes this model an ideal solution for supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores, and smaller retail shops.
